Pikeville Insurance Agency Invitational: Princeton softball shuts out Midway

PRINCETON -- Hailey Wood dominated the Midway lineup from the circle, and Princeton used two big innings to secure an 11-0 mercy-rule triumph over Midway in the Pikeville Insurance Agency Invitational on Thrusday.
Casey Mitchell homered and Kortney Edwards doubled in the first inning to help the Bulldogs push across four runs.
Brianna Myers doubled. Charley Cox, Beth Braswell and Keley Peedin each had one hit apiece for Princeton.
Wood struck out 11 batters and allowed one hit and one walk in her shutout performance that took Princeton to 8-1 this season.
Princeton faces North Johnston tonight at 7 p.m.
