CHAPEL HILL -- Eastern Wayne's Naheria Hamilton has her name etched into two categories in the N.C. High School Athletic Association record books.
The junior recorded a career- and single-game school record 19 blocks against J.H. Rose on Jan. 6. Her performance fell one block shy of matching the state record (20) held by Bayley Plummer of East Davidson, which she has done twice.
Hamilton blocked 174 shots this season, which places her among the top 10 in that category.
The Warriors finished 26-1 overall and reached the eastern 3-A regional semifinals for the second time in the past three seasons.
