Oakwood punched in a goal with 11 minutes left in the first half that proved to be the decisive tally against Wayne Country Day on Wednesday.
The Chargers had opportunities in the second half, but couldn't get the ball in the net.
"It was a tough loss but a strong second half performance," WCDS coach Steven Ellis said. "The girls are looking to bounce back tomorrow in our first conference game."
