Chargers hammer Fayetteville Christian on baseball diamond

For the second straight day, Wayne Country Day scored 25 runs -- this time a 25-2, three-inning triumph over Fayetteville Christian on Wednesday afternoon.
Mitch Turnage led the way for the Chargers with four hits and four RBI. Parker Smith, Amane Godo, John Strickland, Patrick Hall and Ryan Hopes each contributed to the offensive onslaught.
Godo got the win on the mound, going two innings, striking out three and giving up two runs on one hit. Zach Barfield pitched an inning of scoreless relief.
Wayne Country Day (5-5 overall) plays host to Lee Christian in the Charger Classic next Thursday.
