The bats came around just in time for the Warriors as they upended Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A foe New Bern 8-4 on Tuesday.
Ryan Warren drove in two runs during his two-hit performance to lead the offensive charge.
"Ryan swung the bat well all day," EW coach Jabo Fulghum said. "He hit the ball hard every time up. But it was a total team effort, it wasn't just one guy."
Eight of the nine batters in the Warriors lineup had at least one hit. The only Warrior without a hit, Tanner Wells, drove in a run. He started on the mound, scattering six hits and striking out six in 3 2/3 innings.
Zack Smith came on in relief to throw 3 1/3 innings with seven strikeouts.
"The guys did a good job hitting with two strikes," Fulghum said. "The pitching was good. We've progressed, getting a little better everyday. But it's a long season we got 10 conference games left. But the guys are playing well."
The Warriors (3-1 overall, 1-1 ECC) entertain Nash Central on Thursday.
