Preps digest: JV, middle school results

JV
* Girls' soccer: Wayne Country Day 7, Sally B. Howard 0 -- Langley Barnes registered the hat trick (three goals) for the victorious Chargers. Jasmine Jones, Janae Jones, Isabel Vigneault and Abby Skinner each supplied one goal. Jennifer Potts posted two assists. Janae Jones had one assist.
Middle schools
* Softball: Grantham 12, Mount Olive 2 -- Mackenzie Bryan tossed a one-hitter and logged 14 strikeouts inside the pitcher's circle for Grantham. Bryan collected three hits, including two doubles, at the plate. Amber Pfenning smacked two doubles. Grace Tart added two hits. Grantham (2-0 overall) won its Wayne County Middle School Athletic Conference Division II opener.
* Girls' soccer: Greenwood 2, Wayne School of Engineering 1 -- Alana Kazar punched in both goals during Greenwood's win. Kaela Coles and Hanna Reynolds emerged as the defensive leaders. Greenwood (2-1-0 overall) visits Spring Creek on March 30.
* Baseball: Norwayne 8, Rosewood 6 -- Blake Dilda scattered four hits and recorded five strikeouts in 61/3 innings during the Cobras' win. Davis Carroll contributed two hits, including a double. Dilda and James Reser each had one hit. Norwayne improved to 3-0 overall this season.
* Girls' soccer: Norwayne 5, Rosewood 0 -- Hannah Spier tallied four goals and Lauren Smith provided one goal for the Cobras. MacKenzie Jones, Morgan Quinn and Colleena Zacharzuk each dished out one assisxt. Goalkeeper Mckenzie Norris recorded one save and earned the shutout between the pipes. Norwayne (2-0-0 overall) visits Mount Olive on Thursday.
