* Girls' basketball: Eastern Wayne 44, C.B. Aycock 38 (OT) -- Eastern Wayne outscored Charles B. Aycock by six points in overtime. Cassandra Lassiter led CBA with 14 points and Hannah Vinson had 12.
Middle schools
* Boys' basketball: Freedom Christian Academy 25, Wayne Country Day 24 -- Cooper Edmondson scored 11 points for the Chargers but Freedom knocked Wayne Country Day out of the Coastal Plains Independent 1-A/2-A Conference tournament on Tuesday. The Chargers finished the year 10-10 overall
* Girls' basketball: Dillard 39, Rosewood 35 -- McKayla Roberts scored 16 points and Tyanna Morrison dropped in 13 as Dillard upended Rosewood by four points Tuesday. Rylee Myers and Koreyana Bell led Rosewood with 10 points apiece. Dillard finished the year 10-3 and 6-2 in Wayne County Middle School Athletic Conference play.
