Golden Falcon girls escape Bears' claws in OT

NEW BERN -- Myleah Jones posted a double-double and Taylor Daniels played a superb floor game in Charles B. Aycock's 56-55 overtime triumph over New Bern in an Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference game Friday evening.
Jones recorded 13 points and 11 rebounds, and shot 7 of 10 from the free throw line. Daniels pumped in a team-high 17 points and pick-pocketed the Bears for three steals.
Ashley Darden narrowly missed a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds. She collected four steals.
The Golden Falcons (15-4, 4-2 ECC) return home Tuesday to begin second-half ECC play against county foe Southern Wayne.
