When Goldsboro and Eastern Wayne combined to shoot 44 free throws in the first half, just about everyone was in foul trouble.

Everyone except for Megan Mozingo.

And luckily for Eastern Wayne, Mozingo was the hottest shooter on the court Wednesday evening. The senior knocked down four 3-pointers and had 17 points to lead Eastern Wayne past Goldsboro, 81-46.

Tianna Christopher was the Warriors' high scorer with 19 points.

"We've been waiting all year to have a night like this with our shooting and it feels so good to have it tonight," Christopher said. "We know we have shooters so tonight it was good to show it."

The Warriors finished with four players in double figures during their dominating performance. Senior Jasmine Covington scored 14 points and sophomore Treycie Ford added 11.

Despite the numerous fouls, Eastern Wayne continued to play pressure defense throughout the night.

"It was tough, it kind of took us out of our game a little bit because we like to run," EW coach Phil Gray said. "But they came out in the second half and responded well, and we got a big night from Megan Mozingo who really stepped up with her shot."

The Warriors (5-0 overall) travel to Kinston on Friday.

Goldsboro (2-3) lost leading scorer Tyona Moses to a knee injury in the third quarter. The junior did not return to the game.
