Mercer, Yelverton lead Rosewood to road win

CLEVELAND -- Lexi Mercer and Krystal Yelverton combined to score 44 of Rosewood's 51 points in a non-conference win over Cleveland.
After the Eagles struggled to score in the second and third periods, Cleveland held a six-point lead going into the final frame. Rosewood outscored Cleveland 14-3 in the fourth to complete the comeback.
Mercer finished with 27 points, 10 rebounds, six steals and three assists. Yelverton scored 17 points and added four steals.
Rosewood forced 21 turnovers while committing 15.
The Eagles (4-2 overall) begin defense of their Carolina 1-A Conference regular-season title Monday at Hobbton.
