Jara leads Cougars to 5-set win over Kinston

Maddie Jara had a double-double with 10 aces and 20 digs to lead Goldsboro to a 25-19, 21-25, 25-13, 24-26, 15-11 triumph over Eastern Carolina 2-A Conference foe Kinston Thursday night.
"That was the best game of Maddie J's career," GHS coach TJ Lancaster said. "She was like a wall back there for us, and I think every girl went up to her and thanked her for her performance last night."
Alexus Davis added 15 kills and 12 digs and Becka Pittard had 10 kills and 15 digs. Matti Rose Lyon chipped in 15 assists and Angelina Nacca had 10 assists.
Goldsboro (11-6 overall, 3-4 ECC) plays host to Ayden-Grifton on Tuesday.
