Davis flirts with double-double in Cougars' 5-set road win

KENLY -- Alexus Davis just missed a double-double with 17 kills and nine service aces in Goldsboro's 19-25, 33-31, 25-21, 24-26, 16-14 triumph over perennial 2-A powerhouse North Johnston.
Davis also contributed six digs and three blocks.
Tayzlie Tripple logged seven kills and one block. Matti Rose Lyon registered six kills, a team-high 15 assists and two aces. Maddie Jara served seven aces.
The Cougars (9-4 overall) entertain North Lenoir today.
