Neuse River YFL
* 12-Under: C.B. Aycock 61, Rosewood 6 -- Tyler Hughes accounted for five touchdowns -- two on offense, two on defense and one on a kickoff return. Omar Tucker, Turner Bass, Jamin Jacobs and Jalin Applewhite each provided a touchdown. Tucker led the defense with six tackles for loss, a quarterback sack and two forced fumbles. The Little Falcons (1-0 overall) travel to Mount Olive on Tuesday.
* 8-Under: Boys Club 28, Grantham 12 -- Zavian Oates rushed for two touchdowns and completed a touchdown pass to Darius Robinson. Robinson also ran for a TD. The Boys Club (1-0 overall) entertains North Duplin today.
Middle schools
* Volleyball: Greenwood d. Eastern Wayne 25-17, 25-15, 25-18 -- Alana Kazar and Alyssa Jackson each served six aces in the T-Birds' three-set sweep. Yuka Akiyama and Jessica McDonough provided three aces apiece. Greenwood plays host to Mount Olive on Thursday.
