Bears claw past Golden Falcons in ECC soccer opener

PIKEVILLE -- New Bern scored a goal in the 20th minute and never looked back on its way to a 4-0 victory over Charles B. Aycock on Tuesday.
It was the Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference opener for both teams.
The Golden Falcons (2-3-0 overall, 0-1-0 ECC) entertain unbeaten Southern Wayne on Thursday. Kickoff is 6 p.m.
