Wayne Christian digs into its 'Wells' in road win

ROCKY MOUNT -- Emily Wells posted a double-double (10 aces, 10 assists) during Wayne Christian's 22-25, 25-20, 25-11, 23-25, 15-7 triumph over Faith Christian of Rocky Mount on Monday afternoon.
Kasey Norris just missed a double-double with 14 assists and nine kills. Brooke Slusher served up five aces, while Sarah Sawyer cranked out five kills.
Defensively, senior libero Reagan Taylor had 29 digs. The Gurley sisters, Holly and Jody, combined for 40 digs.
Wayne Christian (3-5 overall) opens its Carolina Christian 1-A Conference season at home today against Cape Fear Christian Academy.
