Goldsboro spikers extend win streak to 5

DUDLEY -- Becka Pittard and Alexus Davis reached double figures in kills as Goldsboro defeated county rival Southern Wayne 25-10, 25-14, 20-25, 25-14 on Monday afternoon.
Pittard logged 15 kills, three blocks and three digs for the Cougars, who captured their program-best fifth straight win with head coach TJ Lancaster. Davis provided 10 kills, three aces and six digs.
Matti Rose Lyon contributed a team-leading 13 assists and four kills. Angelina Nacca handed out seven assists, while Maddie Jara paced the defense with eight digs.
Lancaster cited the play of Kaylee Lyon, who "did a great job covering our hitters and blockers."
Goldsboro (6-2 overall) entertains Hobbton on Wednesday and launches its Eastern Plains 2-A Conference campaign against South Lenoir on Thursday.
