Big Rock Blue Marlin: Goldsboro's Bass helps land third-place blue marlin

ATLANTIC BEACH -- Goldsboro angler Brandon Bass posted the third-largest catch during the 56th installment of the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament.
Bass reeled in a 410.7-pound blue marlin while fishing aboard Carnovore, the 2010 BRBM champion.
Inspiration emerged as the leader in the Blue Marlin Division with a 754.3-pound catch that took 41/2 hours to reel in Monday evening. It was the largest blue marlin caught during the Big Rock this century.
Eye Catcher is second with a 606.9-pound fish.
Chainlink, one of three Goldsboro boats in the week-long event, hooked and released two white marlin. The boat is owned by Wes Seegars and captained by Ralph Griffin.
Floar Plan and Huntress are also competing. Floar Plan is owned by Anthony Floars and Brent Gaskill serves as the captain. Huntress is operated by Huntress Sport Fishing, LLC with Max Weaver as its captain.
