ATLANTIC BEACH -- Floar Plan, owned by Randy Floars of Goldsboro, released a 35-pound dolphin during action in the 56th annual Big Rock Blue Marlin tournament Wednesday.

Floars and his crew released a white marlin around 2 p.m.

One day earlier, Chainlink landed a dolphin that tipped the scales at 26 pounds. Chainlink is owned by Wes Seegars of Goldsboro.

Inspiration remained the overall leader as the tournament reached its midpoint. The lone blue marlin brought to the docks Wednesday did not meet the tournament's minimum requirements.

Eye Catcher is in second place.

Carnivore, which reeled in a 410.7-pound blue marlin by Goldsboro angler Brandon Bass on Monday, kept its third-place standing.

Of the 120 boats, 95 fished on a day when releases and gamefish catches dominated the action. Anglers caught 10 blue marlins, 17 white marlins and three sailfish.

Dancin' Outlaw captain Thomas Wood leads the weekly release division with two blue marlins and two white marlins (1,050 points) that were all released on Monday. Wood is in position to pocket a paycheck worth close to $78,000.
