Kinston rallies late, defeats Goldsboro

Kinston plated a pair of seventh-inning runs in a 5-4 triumph over Eastern Carolina 2-A Conference foe Goldsboro on Saturday.
Sterling Dodson paced the Cougars' offense with two hits, including a double, and an RBI. Damon Pate doubled in three official at-bats.
Jared Howard (RBI), Cayce Herring, Kenny Stempien and Thomas Vick (two RBI) contributed one hit apiece.
Herring took the mound loss. He yielded five runs on five hits and walked one in a complete-game effort.
Goldsboro (2-14 overall) fell to 0-7 in ECC play this season.
