SEVEN SPRINGS -- Rosewood plated 10 runs in the sixth and seventh innings combined during an 18-7 conquest of Carolina 1-A Conference rival Spring Creek on Friday evening.
Anna Ingram homered, doubled twice and drove in four runs for the Eagles, who rebounded from a one-run loss to North Duplin just 24 hours earlier. Hayley Mercer singled, tripled and collected two RBI. Jordan DuBose batted 3-for-4 with three RBI.
Overall, Rosewood manufactured 18 runs on 12 hits and six Spring Creek defensive miscues. The Gators, meanwhile, scratched out five hits and profited from five errors committed by the Eagles.
"Spring Creek always gives us a good contest," third-year RHS head coach Shay Campbell said. "They are a good-hitting team and will sneak up on you quickly. I told our players in the sixth inning to keep the pressure on them and continue to play to win, not to just on to the lead."
Rosewood (9-3 overall, 7-3 CC) plays host to Lakewood on Monday and concludes regular-season play at home Wednesday against archrival Princeton.
