GREENVILLE -- Eastern Wayne avenged an earlier loss and handed J.H. Rose its first blemish on what has been an otherwise perfect season on Wednesday evening.

Tyler Warren recorded five strikeouts, walked five batters and earned the complete-game win during the Warriors' 9-5 upset of the Rampants on the Guy Smith Stadium diamond.

Eastern Wayne supported Warren with 14 hits and no defensive errors.

"We played good from the first inning to the last inning," Eastern Wayne head coach Jabo Fulghum said. "We hit good, we pitched good and we played good defense."

Ryan Faucette led the offense with three hits, including a sixth-inning home run that put Eastern Wayne in control. Zach Smith, Lee Daniels, Coy Barnett, Tanner Wells and Warren each had two hits in the affair.

Ryan Kelly and Brandon Johnson each drove in a run.

Eastern Wayne (7-10 overall, 4-5 ECC) faces D.H. Conley today.
