Eagles overcome defensive miscues against Wildcats

NEWTON GROVE -- Jordan Gurley and Reed Howell combined for a two-hitter, and Rosewood overcame six errors in a 6-4 victory over Hobbton on the Carolina 1-A Conference scene Friday evening.
Gurley yielded both hits, struck out nine and issued six walks in six innings on the mound. Howell threw a scoreless seventh to record the save.
Brent Breedlove (RBI), Derek Neal and Gurley (RBI) pounded out two hits apiece offensively. Howell (RBI), Kahlil Warren (RBI) and Ethan Chapin each had one hit.
Boone Moody supplied an RBI.
The Eagles (9-4 overall, 8-1 CC) entertain Lakewood on Tuesday.
