North Duplin trips up Rosewood on softball diamond

CALYPSO -- North Duplin topped Rosewood, 6-4, in Carolina 1-A Conference play Wednesday afternoon.
Riley Pate earned the pitching win for North Duplin, while Hailey Weeks endured the loss for Rosewood. The Rebels collected six hits on the night, but the Eagles' six defensive errors proved crucial as well.
Rosewood had six hits and 15 strikeouts.
The Rebels (3-2 overall) improved to 3-0 in the conference and are the guests of Hobbton next Tuesday. Rosewood (2-1, 2-1) plays host to Spring Creek on Friday.
