A native of Kehl, Germany, Bub is a two-time all-Conference Carolinas performer.

Mount Olive (11-1 overall, 5-0 CC) puts its eight-match win streak on the line today at archrival Barton.

Softball

MOUNT OLIVE -- Kelsey Akers matched a school record with three doubles and Madison Johnston tossed a two-hit shutout during the University of Mount Olive's 12-0, game-one victory over in-state rival Chowan University on Wednesday afternoon.

Tiffany Hawley doubled twice and collected four RBI in the Trojans' come-from-behind, 10-6 win in the nightcap at Nancy Chapman Cassell Field.

In the opener, Johnston (6-7) allowed two-out singles in the first and third innings for Chowan's only baserunners. She retired the final seven batters she faced, including three by strikeout during that stretch.

The Trojans helped Johnston by scoring six runs on six consecutive two-out hits in the second inning.

In game two, senior right-hander Carly White -- the third pitcher of the game -- appeared in the sixth inning and retired the side in order in the seventh to cap the doubleheader sweep.

Mount Olive (12-20 overall) is the guest of Limestone on Saturday and visits first-year South Atlantic Conference member Queens University of Charlotte on Sunday.
