Trojan women fall to Erskine on the road

DUE WEST, S.C. -- Jasmine McDonald posted her fifth double-double of the season, but the University of Mount Olive endured a heart-breaking, 57-56 loss to Conference Carolinas foe Erskine on Wednesday evening.
McDonald knocked down 13 points and grabbed 15 rebounds for the Trojans, who dipped to 8-6 overall and 3-3 against conference opposition this season. Katie Paschal contributed a team-high 15 points and five rebounds.
Kirksten Mitchell recorded 10 points.
Joneiqua Gary put UMO ahead 56-55 with 17 seconds to play. The Flying Fleet answered on Raygon Hendrix's basket four seconds later. The Trojans' last-second shot was off the mark.
Hendrix led all scorers with 18 points.
UMO entertains Belmont Abbey on Saturday. Tip-off is 2 p.m. at Kornegay Arena.
