SEVEN SPRINGS -- James Kenan jumped out to a double-digit lead in the opening minutes and never looked back in a 61-37 win over Carolina 1-A Conference foe Spring Creek on Wednesday night.

The Tigers held the Gators to just one field goal in the first nine minutes of the game and built a 21-3 advantage. The lead increased to 39-11 by halftime.

Dezarae Phillips led the James Kenan offense with 18 points. Moquesha Floyd added 10 points and Christy Debnam tallied nine markers.

Spring Creek did not have a player reach double figures in the scoring collumn. Destiny Sutton led the Gators with nine points and Jazlyn Grimes added eight.

Spring Creek (3-10 overall, 2-4 CC) will host North Duplin on Friday, while James Kenan (7-3, 5-1) plays host to Neuse Charter at Harmon Gymnasium.
