JV sports
* Boys' basketball: Wayne Country Day 67, Wilson Christian 21 -- Corey Carpenter finished with 12 points for the Chargers. Tony Townsend and Patrick Hall both scored 11 points. Matt Kierski supplied 10 points. Wayne Country Day plays host to Goldsboro Heat on Nov. 18.
* Gilrs' basketball: Wilson Christian 34, Wayne Country Day 20 -- Kaitlyn Daniels scored 14 points for Wayne Country Day. Lillian Freeman contributed four points. The Chargers visit St. Mary's on Thursday.
Middle schools
* Girls' basketball: Wayne Christian 29, Goldsboro Heat 24 (OT) -- Kasey Norris lead the Eagles with 22 points. Georgia Parnell added four points and Abby Harrelson had three. Wayne Christian visits Community Christian on Nov. 19.
* Boys' basketball: Goldsboro Heat 26, Wayne Christian 17 -- Josiah Simmons scored a team-high nine points for the Heat. Austin Kornegay paced Wayne Christian with eight points. The Eagles travel to Faith Christian of Rocky Mount on Friday.
