PRINCETON -- The Princeton High School marching band broke into Miley Cyrus' hit tune "Party in the USA" midway through the fourth quarter Friday evening.

It was time to party in Princeton.

Johnny Frasier rambled for 236 yards and five touchdowns on 26 carries, and the Bulldogs cruised past archrival Rosewood 56-19 at the Fred Bartholomew Jr. Athletic Complex. Princeton clinched second place in Carolina 1-A Conference play and a home game in the N.C. High School Athletic Association playoffs.

"We sputtered a little bit early, but we adjusted and got it going," Princeton head coach Derrick Minor said. "When we went to the single wing with (Frasier) in the backfield, it really got us on the same page and we started moving the ball."

Martice Williams opened the game in dramatic fashion with an 81-yard touchdown run on the opening kickoff. Michael Wooten converted the two-point play and the Bulldogs led 8-0 just 13 seconds into the game.

Rosewood (4-7, 2-4) answered when Jamari McGown broke free for an 85-yard touchdown run late in the first quarter. The Eagles appeared to be back in the groove and set for a back-and-forth battle.

That's when Frasier took over.

The talented junior scored four touchdowns in the second quarter and pushed Princeton ahead 35-6 at halftime. Frasier capped a seven-play drive with his fifth touchdown midway through the third quarter to put the game away.

"When one thing went bad tonight, it just kind of snowballed on us," Rosewood head coach Robert Britt said. "We started out strong, but then we had a turnover and a couple special teams' miscues and it all kind of unraveled. We have to learn how to make a play and stop the bleeding."

Williams and Dillon Pace each added a touchdown that made the score 56-6 in Princeton's favor. McGown and Mike Woodard each added a fourth-quarter touchdown for the Eagles.

McGown finished with 150 yards on 14 carries and one catch for 20 yards. Woodard tallied 86 yards on five carries.
