Preps digest: JV, middle schools

JV sports
* Volleyball: Rosewood d. James Kenan 25-20, 25-19 -- Ada Rivera distributed five assists for the Eagles. Hannah Daniels had three kills and Hailey Weeks added three digs.
Middle schools
* Football: Norwayne 22, Mount Olive 6 -- Rakeem McNair scored two rushing touchdowns for Norwayne. Kaleb Moore and Luke Frederick each had a two-point conversion. Frederick also recovered a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown. Noah Pilkington and Kaleb Moore each had a fumble recovery. Norwayne (2-1 overall) travels to Grantham on Oct. 3.
* Football: Spring Creek 22, Dillard 16 -- Jamarian Dawson hauled in an 84-yard touchdown pass from Will Archer with fewer than two minutes to play to give Spring Creek (2-0 overall) the win. Archer rushed for two touchdowns and also had an interception on defense. Dominique Morse also picked off a pass and Nick Strickland added a two-point conversion.
* Volleyball: Norwayne d. Mount Olive 25-15, 25-27, 25-21, 25-17 -- Norwayne improved to 5-1.
* Volleyball: Spring Creek d. Dillard 25-17, 25-5, 25-14 -- Spring Creek's Fernanda Martinez served 14 consecutive points in the second set. The Gators improved to 3-2.
