MOC men's, women's soccer dealt road defeats

CHARLOTTE -- Queens University notched two goals within the final five minutes of regulation and handed Mount Olive College a 3-0, non-conference loss on Wednesday evening.
Goalie Aleksandar Drobac recorded seven saves for the Trojans, who endured their second shutout defeat of the season and second consecutive loss against a South Atlantic Conference team. Queens spent 18 years in Conference Carolinas before moving to the SAC this fall.
Erick Suarez scored twice for the Royals.
Mount Olive (0-3-0 overall) faces Young-Harris (Ga.) in Charlotte on Saturday. Kickoff is 2 p.m.
Women's soccer
MOUNT OLIVE -- Wingate scored three minutes into the opening half and cruised to a 3-0, non-conference victory over the Mount Olive College women's soccer team at Amon Field on Wednesday evening.
Prior to the match, a moment of silence was observed for those affected by the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
The Trojans managed six shots on goal.
Keepers Katie Batson and Kelsey Cirillo combined for four saves between the pipes for the Trojans.
Mount Olive (0-2-1 overall) returns to action Sept. 18 at in-state foe Catawba College.
