JV sports
* Volleyball: Wayne Christian d. Wayne Country Day 18-25, 25-20, 25-14 -- Wayne Christian improved to 2-1 overall. Teriece Hawley and Hannah Neal each supplied six digs for the Chargers. Jessie Walton added 14 digs and two aces. Cheyenne Canuette had five digs. The Eagles visit Neuse Christian today. Wayne Country Day travels to St. Mary's of Raleigh on Sept. 5.
Middle schools
* Volleyball: Wayne Country Day d. Wayne Christian 25-11, 25-19, 25-12 -- Martha Ann Korschum led the Chargers with eight aces and two kills. Jaden DisDier had six aces. Lillian Freeman and Hannah Neal supplied three aces apiece. Jasmine Jones and Kaitlyn Daniels also contributed to the win. WCDS (1-0 overall) entertains Parrott Academy on Sept. 4.
