Spring Creek knocks off Wallace-Rose Hill

TEACHEY -- Ian Ladd cranked out three hits and stole two bases during Spring Creek's opening-round, 10-4 triumph over Wallace-Rose Hill in the N.C. High School Athletic Association Class 1-A playoffs Friday evening.
The Gators (13-10 overall) entertain Union on Tuesday.
Allen Coor (RBI) and Will Rouse contributed two hits apiece for the Gators. Matt Rogers (RBI) and Tre Hammonds (RBI) each provided one hit.
Luke Miller emerged the winning pitcher. He surrendered four earned runs on seven hits and struck out three in 52/3 innings. Logan Miller tossed 11/3 innings of three strike-out relief.
Spring Creek stole nine bases on the night.
