South Johnston shuts out Eastern Wayne in softball

FOUR OAKS -- Regular-season co-champion South Johnston eliminated Eastern Wayne, 13-0, from the Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference tournament Tuesday evening.
Starla Strickland, Casey Young, Brooke Morawski and Sydney Schmeltzer each had a hit for the Warriors.
It was the final game for three Eastern Wayne seniors -- Lenoir Community College signee Allyson Newsome, Stephanie Smith and Diamond Parks.
