Aycock nets marathon dual-team playoff victory

SOUTHPORT -- The team of Chas Hooks and Jackson Yelverton earned a pivotal win and Charles B. Aycock survived for a 5-4 victory at South Brunswick in the first round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association Class 3-A dual-team playoffs.
Yelverton, Allan Best and Stanton Head each contributed a singles win for the Golden Falcons. The tandem of Allan Best/Austin Westbrook also earned a doubles victory.
The match last four hours and 50 minutes.
