Rosewood softball team slips past North Duplin

CALYPSO -- Rosewood rallied from a five-run deficit and hung on for a 10-8 victory over Carolina 1-A Conference foe North Duplin on Tuesday evening.
Amanda Beckert, Alicia Burns and Hayley Mercer each had two hits for the Eagles. Anna Ingram also collected a hit.
Beckert earned the win inside the pitcher's circle.
Shaily McCarty led the Rebels with three hits. Christin Boykin added two hits including a two-run home run. Mikayla Koch, Cory Anderson and Elizabeth Thornton each had two hits. Casey Thornton and Raychel Barwick each added a hit.
Rosewood (12-6 overall, 8-1 CC) concludes its regular season at home Friday against Princeton, while North Duplin (7-11, 3-6) visits Spring Creek.
