North Duplin nips Princeton on baseball diamond

PRINCETON -- North Duplin slipped past Princeton for a 3-2 Carolina 1-A Conference win on Thursday night.
Tyler Potter recorded two hits and an RBI for the Rebels. Blake Rhodes and James Britt both contributed a hit and an RBI. Taylen Lewis also had a hit. Mitchell Thigpen picked up the win on the mound and surrendered two earned runs on seven hits with eight strikeouts and three walks.
North Duplin (8-1 overall, 2-0 CC) is scheduled to compete in the Duplin County Easter Tournament on Monday.
The Bulldogs (2-7, 0-2) play host to Cleveland on Tuesday.
