JV sports
* Baseball: Greene Central 8, SouthWest Edgecombe 5 -- Will Creech and Hunter Murphy each recorded two hits for Greene Central in an 8-5 win over SouthWest Edgecombe on Wednesday. Nick Kearney got the win on the pitcher's mound. Greene Central improved to 5-3 overall.
* Baseball: Greenfield 10, Wayne Country Day 8 -- Mitch Turnage and John Strickland led the Wayne Country Day attack with two hits apiece. Parker Smith and Lee McDonald each added one hit. Wayne Country Day will host Neuse Charter on Friday.
Middle schools
* Baseball: Rosewood d. Greenwood -- Kolby Harris tossed a five-inning no-hitter for the Eagles. Boone Moody doubled, homered and finished the day 4-for-4. Derek Neal, Tucker Chapin and Tanner Bradley collected two hits apiece. Rosewood (7-0 overall) visits Spring Creek on March 25.
