PIKEVILLE -- Cleveland capitalized on unforced errors in singles and doubles play, and handed Charles B. Aycock a 5-4 setback in Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference action Friday afternoon.

It was the Rams' first victory in seven tries against the Golden Falcons.

Addison Vail, Chas Hooks and Austin Coerver each collected a singles point for Aycock. The No. 2 tandem of Hooks-Jackson Yelverton logged the lone doubles point.

"We played hard, but came up short," CBA head coach Luke Vail said. "Our doubles teams have to play better collectively as a team. Addison and Chas played well in singles, and Austin stepped up with solid play at No. 6 singles."

The Golden Falcons (2-2 overall, 2-1 ECC) travel to defending league champion Eastern Wayne on Monday.
