Sauls leads Aycock's effort in the pool

The Golden Falcons girls, the reigning ECC team champions, piled up 104.5 points in their eight-team portion of the marathon event. Savannah Sauls claimed first-place honors in the 200 free (2:13.33) and qualified for the regionals with a meet-best performance of 5:53.16 in the 500 free.
Sauls swam the anchor leg on the regional-qualifying 200 free relay that finished in 2:00.75. She was joined by Taylor Bradshaw, Alexus Lemasters and Kylie Robertson. Aycock's foursome of Bradshaw, Robertson, Ashton Walker and Sauls placed first in the 200 medley relay in 2:17.95.
Bradshaw captured the 100 backstroke in 1:17.61 and secured first overall in the 200 IM (2:49.51).
Eastern Wayne's Tricia Malcolm won the 50 free and swam the anchor leg on the 200 free relay that ended up second behind Aycock. She was joined by Emily Grant, Sydney Schmeltzer and Lilly Boyette. Malcolm took second in the 100 free.
Grant won the 100 fly and Boyette was second in the 200 IM.
The Warriors' quartet of Grant, Schmeltzer, Kaitlin Tallarida and Briana Applegarth won the 400 free relay in 4:54.54.
Rosewood's Cierra Satterfield grabbed second in the 50 free and third in the 100 breaststroke.
Goldsboro's Kaylee Lyon emerged runner-up in the 500 free.
