Preps digest: JV, middle school roundup

JV sports
* Volleyball: Rosewood d. Spring Creek 25-10, 25-16 -- Lexie Reyes had two aces and two assists for the Gators. Sarah Ford added two kills. Callie Thornton led the Eagles' attack with four kills. Jordan Martens and Kayla Hardee recorded seven and four assists, respectively. Hardee served three aces. Rosewood improved to 17-2 overall and 7-1 in Carolina 1-A Conference play.
* Volleyball: Greene Central d. Tarboro 25-21, 19-25, 25-18 -- To'tyana Hagan supplied six aces for the Rams. Tatiana Bynum had three aces and Morgan Mokus added three kills.
Middle schools
* Volleyball: Rosewood d. Mount Olive 25-10, 25-11, 25-16 -- Hannah Daniels finished with 11 aces for the Eagles. Rosewood entertains Norwayne on Monday.
* Football: Norwayne 34, Mount Olive 6 -- Tim Farmer provided two rushing touchdowns for Norwayne. Caleb Gough and Kamarion Graham each had a rushing touchdown. Chandler Matthews contributed a 50-yard touchdown catch from Jake Flowers. Tim Farmer returned an interception 45 yards for a touchdown and Matthews also had an interception. Troy Barnes, Noah Pilkington and Damien Darden each had a fumble recovery. Josh Wallace contributed a sack. Norwayne (4-0 overall) plays host to Grantham on Oct. 11.
