Wayne Christian's Jones emerges top runner

Connor Jones bested the competition by nearly three minutes and helped Wayne Christian claim a four-team, non-conference meet.
Jones ran his home course in 17 minutes, 34 seconds, while Wilson Christian's Nich Rose took second in 20:29. The Eagles' Spencer Foster (21:30) and Baron Wise (21:43) secured third and fourth, respectively.
Ben Wilson capped Wayne Christian's 23-43 triumph over Wilson Christian with a sixth-place run of 22:06.
Oakwood was third with 100 points.
Wayne Country Day's Jackson Warren ended up 15th overall in 24:11. Teammates Connor Shaw (26:32) and Stone Wang (28:42) crossed the line 28th and 36th, respectively. The Chargers did not have enough runners to record a team score.
On the girls' side, Wayne Christian's Sara Allen placed fourth in 26:36.
The Chargers' Lisa Peacock claimed seventh in 28:57, while Ami Hodges was 13th in 38:49.
