Rosewood put all 21 wrestlers into the lineup at some point during its non-conference, tri-meet sweep of South Johnston and Wilson Beddingfield on Tuesday evening. The Eagles emerged victorious in six of nine contested matches in a 57-22 romp over South, and their regular starters combined for a 54-30 triumph over Beddingfield.

"Getting everyone mat time and experience is a goal we have with this young team," said Rosewood head coach Bill Edmundson. "We want everyone to stay excited about the program and get a chance to wrestle varsity matches. Alison Howell, David Dotson, Samuel Drew and Carlos Mata all had exciting matches, and came out on top against South Johnston."

Howell (113 pounds), Dotson (106) and Mata (170) each pinned their respective opponent. Drew claimed a 6-2 decision over the Trojans' Seth Merson at 126 pounds.

The Eagles also received wins from Dallas Pope, Zach Cunningham, Evan Reiss, Josh Drew, Joshua Roberson and Milton Atkinson.

Two-time returning state qualifier Nick Quillen started the action against Beddingfield with a third-period fall over Eric Smith at 126 pounds.

The Bruins prevailed in five of the next eight matches and grabbed a 30-24 advantage in the team score. Senior Taylor McGill ignited a match-ending 30-0 run for the Eagles with a second-period fall over Matt Fess at 220 pounds.

Teammatess Jacob Guthrie (285), Jacob Holliday (106), Angel Jaramillo (113) and Chris Lane (120) secured the victory.

Rosewood (8-2 overall) returns home Saturday and plays host to the 16th annual Eagle Invitational. First-round matches begin at 9 a.m.

Golden Falcons stay unbeaten

KENLY -- Charles B. Aycock stayed perfect in eight outings this season with a tri-meet sweep of Greene Central and North Johnston on Tuesday evening.

The Golden Falcons (8-0 overall) handed Greene Central a 70-3 loss and then turned back North Johnston 54-15 in the nightcap.

"Every time you take the mat, you hope to improve and tonight we did just that,"said Aycock head coach Marc Peck.

Jordan Bailey, David Romo, Daniel Romo, Charlie Mills, Jaquan Walker, Preston Tucker, Khaleil Owens, Devin Best, Broc Doyle, Ryan Morton, Jorge Flores, Zach Howard and Nick Jones each picked up a win against the short-handed Rams.

The Romo brothers, Tucker, Walker, Best, Morton, Dylen Smith, Howard, Jones and Bailey each collected a win against the Panthers. Owens lost 4-1 to James Napier in triple overtime.
