Learn from the past and move on.

Wayne County North shook off a difficult loss and bounced back with a pair of wins on Friday evening in New Hope.

Two days after squandering a late lead in a loss at Wayne South, the Warriors claimed two five-innings wins over Wilson Red and Wilson Blue.

Wayne North defeated Wilson Red in the opener and knocked off Wilson Blue 4-1 in game two.

Josh Dixon's two-run double in the bottom of the first inning gave the Warriors a 2-0 lead in game one.

Colton Griffin's RBI single in the top of the second inning pulled Wilson Red to within 2-1.

Wayne North erupted for six runs in the top of the third inning. Tyler Huetter scored on a wild pitcher and Ryan Faucette provided an RBI single. Nolan James' grand-slam pushed the lead to 8-1.

Wilson got a run back in the top of the third on Duane Cook's RBI single.

Huetter scored on a wild pitch in the home half of the third to increase the margin to 9-2. Faucette scored on an error in the bottom of the fifth inning. Stewart came home on Jeremy Lancaster's fielder's choice and Jake May's RBI single brought the mercy-rule shortened game to an end.

Josh Dixon, Lancaster and May each had two hits as every batter in the Wayne North lineup tallied a hit.

"We're swinging the bat well right now," Warriors' head coach Tyler Ham said. "I thought we had some good at-bats and took a good approach at the plate. We teach our kids to be patient and sit back and wait for a pitch to drive and they did that."

Lancaster pitched all five innings and allowed two earned runs on seven hits with eight strikeouts and two walks to earn the win on the mound. Ty Keen's RBI groundout in the top of the second inning of game two put Wilson Blue in front 1-0.

Stewart's bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the second inning tied the game at 1-1.

Lancaster scored on Grayson Wells' fielder's choice in the bottom of the third inning to give Wayne North the lead for good at 2-1. The Warriors' final two runs scored on an error on as the two teams combined for just four hits.

Justin Lee allowed one earned run on one hit with six strikeouts and three walks in a complete-game to pick up the win on the mound.

"Justin and Jeremy both had similar games in that they made some big pitches and were able to work out of some tough innings," Ham said. "I thought they both threw the ball well. I was proud of our kids for being able to put a tough loss behind them and come out here and bounce back."
