KENLY -- Princeton used a stout defensive effort to earn a 1-1 tie with county rival North Johnston on Monday afternoon.

Ashley Jacobs scored the Bulldawgs' lone goal off of an assist by Madison Parker.

Amber Brush recorded seven saves in goal for the Dawgs.

Princeton (3-6 overall, 2-2 CC) will jump back into Carolina 1-A Conference play when they host Spring Creek tonight.

Baseball

Berean Baptist 6, Faith Christian 2

Faith Christian failed to muster much of an offensive attack against Berean Baptist in a 6-2 loss inthe opening round of the NC Christian Schools Athletic Association playoffs on Monday.

Berean starting pitcher Brent Douglas tossed a complete game and recorded 12 strikeouts.

Noah Welch led the Faith Christian offense with two hits and two RBI. Wes Caudle added a double in the losing effort.

Michael Clark suffered the loss on the pitcher's mound.

Faith Christian finished the season 8-4 overall.

Golf

Lane Tree Ladies

Novella Zambelli captured Game of the Week honors during play this week in the Lane Tree Ladies Golf Association.

Betty Jean Gurley took the Low Net title and Teresa Shearin was the Low Putts performer.
