Allen leads MOC's second-half charge on road

RALEIGH -- Brandon Allen's go-ahead 3-pointer sparked Mount Olive College to a come-from-behind, 62-58 victory over in-state rival St. Augustine's on Saturday afternoon.
Allen pumped in 18 points for the Trojans, who rebounded from their first loss of the season seven days ago.
Mount Olive (5-1 overall) trailed by 14 points with 15 minutes left in the second half. Allen scored all of the Trojans' points in a 12-5 run and his 3-pointer tied the game at 50-50 with 5:15 to go.
Allen's 3-pointer put MOC ahead 56-55 with 1:57 left in the game. Deshaune Green and Derek Staton combined for six free throws in the final 61 seconds to seal the win.
Green tallied a career-best 15 points. Dory Hines narrowly missed a double-double, contributing nine points and a team-high 10 rebounds.
The Trojans entertain Wingate on Tuesday. Tip-off is 7 p.m. at Kornegay Arena.
