Bruins roll past Rams in EPC opener for both teams

SNOW HILL -- Wilson Beddingfield erupted for 36 first-half points and held off Greene Central 36-26 on Friday night in the Eastern Plains 2-A Conference opener for both teams.
Rams' quarterback Brandon Suit scored on a 3-yard touchdown run early in the first quarter to tie the game at 7-7.
The Bruins responded with three consecutive touchdowns and led 36-7 at the half.
Greene Central shut Beddingfield out in the second half. Kenzie Phillips had a touchdown and Joseph Biggs returned an interception for a touchdown. Suit tossed a 20-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Bishop.
Phillips led the Rams' rushing attack with 92 yards on 10 carries.
Greene Central (2-4 overall, 0-1 EPC) continues league play Friday at North Pitt.
