HOLLY RIDGE -- Spring Creek led 7-0 at halftime but couldn't hang on in a 21-7, non-conference loss at Dixon on Friday night.

Ricky Brayboy's 39-yard touchdown pass to D.J. Rossell gave the Gators a 7-0 lead in the first quarter.

Cameron Frye's 37-yard touchdown run in the third quarter tied the game at 7-7. Tyler Johnson's 2-yard score gave the Bulldogs the lead for good in the fourth quarter. Frye added a touchdown in the fourth quarter.

"We played hard and we did a lot of good things defensively," said Spring Creek head coach Aaron Sanders. "We had a couple of turnovers deep on our own side of the field. We turned the ball over once on our own 3-yard line. Defensively, there's not a lot you can do about that."

Brayboy paced the Gators' offense with 91 yards rushing on 35 carries. He also had 81 yards passing.

Spring Creek (0-6 overall) begins Carolina 1-A Conference play on Oct. 8 when it plays host to Princeton.

"We've got to get healthy," said Sanders. "We've got some people that are a little beat up. We've got to get healthy and get ready for conference play."
