CURTIS R. NORD

Curtis Ray Nord Sr., 80,  Grantham, died Friday at his home surrounded by his family.

Born in Georgetown, Texas, to the late Ruben Nord and Ora Homeyer Nord.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Morris, and brother, Charles Ruben "Bud" Nord.

Curtis proudly served in the United States Air Force, retired from the North Carolina Department of Corrections and was a member of Love Memorial Baptist Church.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park, with the Rev. Richard Toler officiating.

The family will receive friends at the grave.

Mr. Nord is survived by his wife, Clara Hare Nord; his children, Teresa Kay Routh and husband, Josh, of Wake Forest, Curtis Ray Nord Jr. and wife, Rhonda, of Greenville, N.C., Marvin Glenn Nord and wife, Donna, of Goldsboro and Gary Wayne Nord and wife, Holly, of Four Oaks; his grandchildren, Allan Weeks and wife, Heather, of Goldsboro, Amber Nord of Arcadia, Fla., Melisa Beasley and husband, Adam, of Benson, Chad Nord of Goldsboro, Lauren Nord of Goldsboro and Lydia Nord of Four Oaks; his great-grandchildren, Mason Weeks, Riley Beasley, Colin Beasley, MacKenzie Beasley and Kinsley Sampson; his stepgrandchildren; step great grandchildren; also his sisters, Doris Bryant of Austin, Texas, and Berniece Oehrlein of Deer Park, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to Love Memorial Baptist Church, 192 Woodland Church Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530, or Community Home Care and Hospice, 2309 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
