Odell Barnes Tedder, 89, Lucama, passed away Friday afternoon at Kitty Askins Hospice Center, surrounded by her loving family.
Odell was born Nov.17, 1928, in Wilson County to the late George Roy and Nannie Joyner Barnes. She was married to the late Rudolph Edgerton and the late Leonard Arthur Tedder Jr.
Odell was a member of St. Mary’s Free Will Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 3 p.m. at Kenly Funeral Service, followed by a service at 3 p.m. in the chapel, with the Rev. David Kriger officiating. Burial will be in the Nahunta Cemetery.
Odell is survived by her daughter, Susan Coley and husband, Dennis, of Kenly; stepdaughters, Joyce Best and husband, Doug, of Lucama, and Kathy Norris, of Lucama; granddaughter, Beverly Norris; great-granddaughter, Graelynn Norris; and her brother, Douglas Barnes and wife, Dall, of Belhaven.
