GLENN M. FERGUSON

July 21, 1937-June 22, 2018

Glenn Murray Ferguson, 80, LaGrange, quietly and peacefully passed away Friday, June 22, 2018.

Glenn was born July 21, 1937, in Leesburg, Fla., to the late J. T. Ferguson and Margaret Jewel Craig Ferguson.

Glenn had a deep love for his country, and flew the flag with great pride.

As a young man, he proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Glenn was a longtime employee of Goldsboro Milling Co. He retired in 2017 following 46 years of dedicated service.

Glenn’s faith and love for God were apparent to all he came in contact with.

His disposition, positive attitude and the occasional dose of tough love endeared him to everyone.

Glenn was a longtime member of Walnut Creek Free Will Baptist Church.

An accomplished cook, Glenn loved cooking and barbecuing. He took great pride in the food he prepared. As much as he enjoyed cooking, he found even greater pleasure in watching others enjoy the meal he prepared.

He never met a stranger, and truly enjoyed good fellowship.

Glenn loved the outdoors and the time he spent in nature. The consummate outdoors man, he loved to fish and hunt. Some of his happiest moments were spent with either a fishing pole or gun in his hand.

Glenn had a heart for helping his fellow man and the animals he came across in nature. Whether at home or at the coast, Glenn was always feeding the birds, squirrels, deer, bears or anything he thought needed to be fed.

A service to celebrate Glenn’s life will be held Monday, June 25, 2018, at 7 p.m. from Rouse Funeral Home. Burial will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery.

Life for Glenn revolved around his family. He was so proud of his family, and never missed an opportunity to brag on them.

Glenn is lovingly survived by his wife of 54 years, Carolyn Tilghman Ferguson; daughter, Donna Bradshaw and husband, Tim; and two grandchildren, Zachary Bradshaw and Holden Bradshaw.

In addition to his parents, a brother, Richard Howard Ferguson, preceded Glenn in death.

Family and friends will be received Monday following the service.

Online condolences may be expressed at www.rousefh.com.

Memorials in Glenn’s memory may be made to Walnut Creek Free Will Baptist Church, 138 N. Beston Road, LaGrange, N.C., 28551.

Arrangements are entrusted to Rouse Funeral Home of LaGrange.
